Charmant, whose birth name is Charmant Mushaga, is a Congolese guitarist, singer, and songwriter known for his “Kivu Jazz” style, which blends African jazz, Afro, and world music. He fled civil war in the Democratic Republic of Congo in 2004 and found a new home in Uganda, where he built a successful music career. A humanitarian through his “Africa Dream Again” project, he uses his music and performances to aid African children affected by war, drawing from his own experiences as a refugee. He has released multiple albums, including African Love and Come To My Village, and has performed internationally.
