Dela is a singer and songwriter based in Nairobi, Kenya. She performs Afro Soul, a style that blends soul music with African rhythms and drums. Growing up, she sang in her school and church choirs. After finishing high school, she began singing back-up for various bands. She later launched her solo career, signed with a record label, and released her first album in 2009 and 2010. In 2010, she was nominated for a Kisima Award.
