Ejyk Nwamba is a Nigerian musician, known as an “Ogene master,” who blends traditional Igbo instruments, such as the ogene (slit-drum), with highlife and Afrobeats. Born in Enugu, he started his career in the church in the early 2000s before launching his music on streaming platforms in the late 2010s. His 2019 hit “Aja Wele Wele” launched his career. Nwamba is celebrated for reimagining popular songs with a cultural touch and has collaborated with major artists, receiving several indigenous music awards.
