Awosika Olayemi Josiah, known professionally as “Fido,” was born in Matogun, Ogun State. His musical journey began in his local church choir. Even though he fell in love with music making early, he still had to hustle out a place for himself as he was raised by a single mother. He rose from humble beginnings to the Afrobeats stage through ambition and the influences of mega artistes like Olamide and Kizz Daniel, Fela Anikulapo-Kuti, etc.
Fido’s debut single, “Awolowo,” gained over 22,000 Shazams in under a week, reaching the #1 spot on Nigeria’s Spotify Top 50 charts.
