Mr Raw, born Okechukwu Edwards Ukeje in 1974, is a pioneering Nigerian rapper and songwriter who gained prominence in the early 2000s for popularizing Igbo rap and integrating traditional Igbo rhythms with hip-hop. He is known for his witty lyrics, cultural pride, and for bringing indigenous Nigerian languages into mainstream music. Raw’s hits include “Obodo” and “Hip Hop Gyration,” and he released his debut album, Right & Wrong, in 2005.
