Weird MC, born Adesola Adesimbo Idowu on 9 July 1970, is a Nigerian-British rapper, songwriter, and producer, born in the UK to conservative parents who disapproved of her pursuing music. But in secondary school, she formed a hip-hop group, “Weirdos,” with four other girls.
She competed in rap battles and toured the UK with DJ P Tee Money. She released the single “I Wanna Make You Jack/Let’s Get Wet,” which reached number one on the Choice FM charts. Later, the Don Jazzy and JJC-produced single “Ijoya” earned her an AMEN award and a Channel O Music Video Award for Best Special Effect.
