Ami Faku is a South African singer, songwriter, and performer born in Port Elizabeth in 1993. She began singing in church as a child and rose to fame on The Voice South Africa in 2017 before signing with Vth Season records. Faku’s music blends R&B and soul with Afropop and amapiano influences, exploring themes of love, social issues, and happiness in her songs, which are often in Xhosa. Her debut album, Imali, was released in 2019 and achieved Gold status in South Africa.
