Nailah Blackman, born on December 2, 1997, is a Trinidadian singer and songwriter known for her innovative approach to the soca music or the “soul of calypso”. As the granddaughter of soca inventor Garfield Blackman (Ras Shorty I) and daughter of calypsonian Abbi Blackman, music is in her blood and she has been involved in music since childhood. Her professional career began at age 11, and she has since achieved recognition with hits like “Workout” (2017) and “Come Home” (2023), released her debut album “Teknique” in 2022, and is known for collaborating with a wide range of international artists.
