The joint 2024 EP RnB from rivals-turned-collaborators Bnxn and Ruger is a showcase of impressive, albeit inconsistent, Afrobeats synergy. Released following their high-profile feud, the 7-track project, largely handled by producers like Sarz and Kukbeatz, is unexpectedly focused on sybaritic love songs rather than the story of their reconciliation.
Bnxn’s smooth R&B fusion vocals often temper Ruger’s signature patois-laced dancehall swagger. Standouts like the bouncy “POE” and the romantic opener “Bae Bae” highlight their melodic chemistry, proving they are individually superb talents.
While it doesn’t meet the hype of its monumental release, RnB ultimately serves as a polished, enjoyable marker of peace between two of the genre’s biggest stars.
