Olamide’s fifth studio album, “Eyan Mayweather” (2015), is a bold, 21-track declaration of his supreme confidence and dominance in the Nigerian music scene. Released through YBNL Nation, this project is a relentless showcase of street-hop swagger, with Olamide essentially positioning himself as the “undefeated champion” of the game, much like the boxing legend, Floyd Mayweather.
The album is packed with massive, high-energy street anthems that defined the era, including “Lagos Boys,” and “Melo Melo.” Produced primarily by Pheelz, with contributions from Young Jonn and I.D. Cabasa, the production is raw, hard-hitting, and perfectly complements Olamide’s unapologetic flow. Unlike his previous works that featured numerous collaborations, “Eyan Mayweather” is largely a solo effort, proving Olamide could hold an entire project down by himself.
