This album is named after “Apollo” the Greek god of music and poetry. You don’t have to wonder too hard why “Fireboy DML,” chose this name for his second studio album because in the very first line of the very first song of this project, he declares: “I be King!” Then in another line of the same song, he asks: “How human am I to think myself a god?”
And to prove himself the god of music, he distills this album with multiple sounds and music styles: reggae, funk, alté afrobeat, pop, country, afro-fusion, the works, tossing them in a pan like spices he plays with, and creating a never before seen, wholesome album that has everyone agreeing that he might be the Greek god.
His pen game is a good match for the best poets, and his ability to rhyme according to the rhythm creates 17 unskippable songs.
