Jacob Banks is a Nigerian-born English singer and songwriter, known for his velvety baritone and a musical style that blends R&B, soul, and hip-hop with electronic and reggae influences. After moving to Birmingham, England, as a teen, he began his music career performing at open mic nights in the early 2010s. He gained early recognition by winning the 2012 MOBO UnSung competition and releasing EPs like The Monologue and The Paradox, before releasing his debut album, Village, in 2018.
