Fave describes “Dutty Love” as a project centered around toxic love and all its negative sides that keep us hooked despite all the red flags. Released in November 2024, her seven-track sophomore EP comes completely solo without guest features, marking a significant evolution from “Riddim 5.”
The title track samples Nelly Furtado, an artist Fave admired growing up for her electric sound with Timbaland. Opening with an EDM stinger on “Dutty Love Song,” the project navigates through power dynamics on “Controlla,” feeling under a spell in “Juju,” and irrational attachment on “Belong to You” and “No Games”. Blending R&B, Amapiano, dancehall, and Afropop, Fave creates a raw narrative to help listeners identify toxic patterns, find healing, and know when to finally let go.
