“Timeless” lands as Davido’s fourth studio album, and you can feel the weight behind it. He’s coming off a tough chapter; the heartbreaking loss of his young son, plus stepping away from the spotlight for a while. The title says a lot.
“Timeless” isn’t just about making a hit for now; Davido’s aiming for something that lasts, that people remember. When he announced the album, he put it simply: “There is a time for everything. A time to grieve and a time to heal. A time to laugh and a time to dance.”
The music digs into amapiano but refuses to stay put. There’s dancehall, ragga, highlife, Afropop, and a mix of other styles. Davido clearly wants to push his sound, not just repeat what’s safe. His guest list is just as bold; Skepta, Angelique Kidjo, Asake, The Cavemen, plus new names like Morravey and Logos Olori.
