T.A.P. (Talk About Poe) is the highly anticipated debut project, often considered an album or long-form EP, by Nigerian rapper Ladipoe, released on October 5, 2018. The 10-track project, released under Mavin Records, is a rich and introspective journey into the rapper’s mind, showcasing his lyrical dexterity and storytelling prowess.
The album deals with various genres, including R&B, dancehall, and new high-life (palm-wine) rhythms, alleviating fears that signing to a pop label would compromise his rap artistry. It features collaborations with a range of talented artists, including Efya, Seyi Shay, Tems, Funbi, Ghost (SDC), and Sir Dauda. T.A.P explored ambition, relationships, self-conviction, and the complexities of life, culminating in the assertive final track “Revival”, where Ladipoe declares himself the “Leader of the Revival” of quality rap music in Nigeria.
