Yemi Eberechi Alade, known professionally as “Yemi Alade,” is a Nigerian Afrobeats singer, songwriter, actress, and activist from the Akoko part of Ondo State. She is also known as “Mama Africa” for her versatile use of different African languages and attire. She rose to fame after winning the 2009 Peak Talent Show. Her music is a mixture of Afropop, highlife, dancehall, pop, and R&B, and has been influential in several countries across Africa. She is renowned for her energetic performances and hit songs such as “Johnny.”
