Listening to Book of Rap Stories today still feels like sitting with someone who’s telling you real-life stories without filters. Reminisce wasn’t trying to impress anyone in 2012; he was being himself, and that’s exactly what made the album stand out.
Songs like “Kako Bi Chicken” and “2Musshh” became hits because they sounded like everyday life and the noise, the tension, the joy, the survival. However, the other tracks showed a softer side, the one you only see when the streets get quiet, and a rapper starts reflecting on life beyond the hustle.
The producers did amazing work shaping a sound that balanced hip-hop with Nigerian flavour, giving Reminisce the perfect backdrop to tell his stories. For a debut, it didn’t just introduce him but introduced a movement.
