“Start” is the opening track on Asake’s Lungu Boy album. The music is slower and less loud than Asake’s usual songs. He uses a sample from an older Nigerian song, “Eye Adaba” by Asa, to make the track feel deep and thoughtful. The lyrics are about Asake reflecting on his huge success and the high place he holds in the music world now. He sounds grateful but also very confident, as if he’s telling everyone, “Mr. Money is here to stay.” Start is a calm, strong opening that shows he is changing his sound slightly.
