“Sunmomi” is one of the softer moments on Asake’s debut album, “Mr. Money with the Vibe.” The production, led by Magicsticks, uses piano chords and subtle log drums to create a mellow sound. Asake’s lyrics, sung mostly in Yoruba, express a deep longing for closeness, as he calls on his lover to come closer. “Sunmomi” stands out for its emotional depth, and for showing a gentler side to Asake’s energetic persona.
