Adekunle Gold’s sixth studio album, Fuji, released on October 3, 2025, represents a return to his Nigerian musical heritage. Described as his most honest work, the 15-track album explores personal themes including grief, joy, fatherhood, and self-discovery. The title “Fuji” also stands for “Finding Uncharted Journeys Inside,” emphasizing a journey of self.
The album blends traditional Yoruba sounds like Fuji, Apala, and Tungba with contemporary Afropop and R&B. It features collaborations with artists such as Davido, Lojay, Shoday, 6lack, Robert Glasper, and the Soweto Gospel Choir. Notable tracks include “Big Fish”, “Coco Money” and “Many People,” which features sounds by Fuji legends, Adewale Ayuba and Yinka Ayefele. The project successfully combines traditional and modern global sounds, highlighting Adekunle Gold’s versatility.
