Flavour’s third studio album, Blessed, released on October 18, 2012, through 2nite Entertainment and iROKING LTD, is widely considered a career masterpiece. The album expands on his signature fusion of traditional Igbo high-life with contemporary Afrobeats and R&B, showcasing a more mature sound in terms of lyrics and instrumentation.
The project features a stellar lineup of producers (Masterkraft, Del B, Selebobo, etc.) and guest artists including Wizboyy and Fally Ipupa. It delivered numerous massive hits, such as “Baby Oku”, the popular wedding melody “Ada Ada”, the high-energy “Shake”, and the soulful ballad “Chinny Baby”. The album balanced celebratory party tracks with introspective songs about resilience and self-love (“Black Is Beautiful”). “Blessed” was a critical and commercial success, earning nominations at The Headies 2013 and solidifying Flavour’s status as a leading artist in African music.
